The Company’s Management focusing on environment protection undertakes to follow national environment protection legal acts and takes responsibility for the implementation of the following policies:

• Constant monitoring of the company’s environment condition;
• Detection and diminishing of the company’s negative impact on environment;
• Rational consuming of energy and water supplies, adjusting modern production and environment components treatment technologies and thus having no impact on the quality of production process.
• Caring out of economical activities following the principles of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control.

The main company’s activity is paper production which is closely related to the environment protection. Paper and corrugated board used for manufacturing of sanitarian and domestic products are made in the process of recycling the secondary raw material — waste-paper. This way we contribute to the preservation of forests — an important environment protection component. This also helps to diminish the quantity of paper waste in Lithuanian and other neighbour countries.

Company’s focus on the air treatment from hard particles (wood, paper dust, smut) results in the explotation of nine air treatment equipments in the production lines. In 2005, a few were replaced by modern sleeve air treatment equipment.

Air pollution with greenhouse gases has become the problem of today in Lithuania and other EU countries. Companies must have the Pollution Permits for polluting with greenhouse gases. To reduce air pollution the company applies utilization of waste made during the process of hardboards production. This way the impact of wood waste (biofuel) combustion products on air quality with respect to greenhouse gas emission is zero.

The company is situated next to the Grigiskes town, which lets us regularly monitor the company’s impact on the environment. Monitoring works are performed in particular places of the town according to the specially prepared air monitoring program. The results of the last two years show that hygiene norms of air pollution have not been exceeded.
